Welcome to Fuse!
Hey friends!
Welcome to the land of all things Fuse here on the interwebs! My name is Tim Mauriello and I’m the “Middle School Guy” and I would love to tell you what Fuse is all about.
Fuse is the Middle School ministry here at Grace (6th – 8th grade). We seek to love students into a closer relationship with Jesus through relationships with adult small group shepherds and other students. We create space for these relationships to grow in three unique ways.
The first, and most important is small groups. Our small groups meet during the school year during the weekend worship service times(we take a break on holiday weekends to catch our breath!). Small groups are separated by grade and gender. This means that whatever hour they choose to join, a student will be in a group with others in the same grade and of the same gender. How cool is that? Small groups meet in Student Ministries West.
We also have a large group worship gathering on Wednesday nights. This is your more typical “youth group” environment with games, rockin’ music, teaching and creative elements. This also meets in Student Ministries West - it’s our home!
The final piece of the puzzle is our retreats and events. These happen only a couple times a year and are always highlights in propelling students deeper in their faith and relationships. The fall retreats are cool, because we separate the girls and guys and go to separate camps to really focus on the specific needs of the different genders at this age.
In the winter/spring, we change it up and do a large event for each grade to allow us to focus on the developmental needs based on their age. The 6th graders have an overnight at church in January, the 7th grade get a winter retreat in February and the 8th graders have an end of year retreat in May to help with their transition into high school.
You can find a complete calendar here on the website.
So dig in and enjoy! If you have any questions, let us know!
Thanks for stopping by!
Tim
