Why a separate Singles Group Connect?
At our Sunday Group Connect, we still invite singles into our groups mixed with couples and singles. But some singles prefer to have a singles-only environment where they can meet other singles and study God’s word together. That’s the purpose of our new Singles Group Connect. It gathers together a larger community of singles (25 and beyond) to experience a study and discussion for spiritual growth. It all happens at Grace in Student Ministries East starting at 7 PM Thursday, February 4 and continuing every Thursday through March 11.
What’s different?
Singles Group Connect looks different from Sunday Group Connect in several ways. It has been designed by singles for singles with these unique features:
ONSITE AT GRACE. Singles Group Connect meets in Student Ministries East to provide a safe environment not just for the first week, but for all 6-weeks of our launch period. This space allows for a gathering of the larger singles community that can break into smaller study groups. The goal is to create a warm, welcoming environment that feels comfortable for singles to interact and grow spiritually.
THURSDAY EVENINGS. Instead of starting at a weekend event and moving to a week night, Singles Group Connect meets all 6 weeks on the same night – Thursday. Based on feedback from our design team, this seems like the night of the week that works best overall for singles. Plus, it allows scheduling of the best facilities at Grace to accommodate this event – Student Ministries East.
WEEKLY GROUPS. Unlike our Sunday Group Connect where we match you with the same group for a 6-week launch period, Singles Group Connect allows you to join with the people of your choice each week. After you interact with the larger community of singles, you choose your discussion group for that week.
SHORT-FILM DISCUSSION. To stimulate discussion in groups, we’ll start by showing a brief short-film focused on a specific spiritual topic. Then, we’ll divide into small groups where a facilitator leads your discussion. Since the topic changes each week, you can miss a week and not feel behind. Just jump into a group of your choice the next week.
